Hard vacuum test – steel drums

For this specific project, the Hard vacuum test was used. The hard vacuum test (using helium as tracer gas) is the most precise method to automatically leak test a product (up to 10-8 mbar*l/s). This test can be performed with active helium supply or with products that are pre-filled with helium.

This standardised machine is designed to leak test smaller products in-line. By using the Helium accumulation testing method, this machine can reach precision levels up to <2.0*10-5 [mbar*L/sec]. With the ability to test 2 products at the same time, the machine is able to reach a high test capacity level.

This standardised machine is designed to semi-automatically leak test valves (or similar products), with also a calibration option included. The compact device is meant to be placed on a desk/production table, products can be placed in the device manually for testing.

With our Submersion tester for tight head steel drums, an operator is able to easily perform a leak test on a produced or reconditioned steel drum. The tester is made to automatically push the drum under water, and keep it there while the operator performs the analysis.
