Liner insertion machine

Customized machine for transporting and placing plastic liners in steel drums.

This fully automatic machine is specifically designed to transport plastic liners and place them into steel drums. Built to integrate seamlessly into an existing factory, it connects a plastic liner production line with a steel drum production line. During the project planning phase, Verborg Engineering worked closely with the customer to ensure the machine's design perfectly fit the factory’s layout. Particular attention was given to preserving existing conditions, as the liners needed to be transported across existing machinery and walking paths without causing disruptions.

The process begins with the liner being transferred from an existing production line onto an inclined transport conveyor. This conveyor elevates the liner to nearly 4 meters, allowing it to be transported over existing factory infrastructure. At the end of the conveyor system, the liner is directed into a vertical insertion unit. This unit aligns the liner with the steel drum production line. Once the liner is positioned above a steel drum, the drum is moved into place beneath it. The liner is then released and automatically inserted into the drum. After insertion, the steel drum with its liner continues along the existing production line for further processing.
