IBC post mould cooling conveyor
Conveyor system for controlled cooling of IBCs after blow moulding.
This semi-automatic system enables intermediate bulk containers (IBCs) to cool down for a set duration after exiting the blow moulder. The system includes a specialized weighing conveyor to verify the weight of each IBC, along with a pick-and-place mechanism to optimize space usage and maintain proper orientation. Designed by Verborg Engineering to integrate seamlessly into an existing factory layout, the machine minimizes its footprint while enhancing production efficiency.

The process begins with the operator placing IBCs onto the weighing conveyor. This conveyor checks whether each IBC falls within the acceptable weight range. If an IBC is outside this range, it is automatically rejected and removed from the system. For IBCs that meet the weight criteria, the conveyor moves them to the cooling conveyors. The cooling conveyors operate with an indexing system, ensuring a controlled flow of IBCs through the cooling process. While the operator continues placing new IBCs onto the weighing conveyor, the indexed system allows earlier containers to cool down in an orderly sequence. Once the IBCs have passed through the conveyor system, the operator removes them, now sufficiently cooled for the next steps in production. This system provides a streamlined solution for cooling IBCs, combining accuracy, efficiency, and compact design to meet the needs of modern manufacturing environments.
