Pressure decay test – valve tester + calibrator

Two important functions in one compact device.

This standardised machine is designed to semi-automatically leak test valves (or similar products), with also a calibration option included. The compact device is meant to be placed on a desk/production table, products can be placed in the device manually for testing. For the leak testing, a version of the Pressure decay test is used in this device.

After the product is placed in the holder, the device will attach itself to the input, output and adjuster of the valve. The device has the ability to measure the pressure difference between the input and output of the valve. Depending on the program, the valves can be tested on leaks or they can be adjusted to the correct throughput of matter.

In the project this machine was initially designed for, the product used were a variation of gas valves (pictured below). In order to reach the throughput of tested valves, multiple devices had to be used to run the test/calibration programs simultaneously.
